Embark on an epic 4-day adventure from Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco, to the golden dunes of the Sahara and the imperial cities of the south. This intensive tour will take you through the Middle Atlas with its cedar forests and alpine towns, the spectacular Ziz Valley with its palm oases, and will culminate with an authentic experience in the Merzouga desert. Meet nomadic families, explore the musical village of Khamlia, and sleep under the stars in traditional Berber tents. Discover the stunning Todra and Dades Gorges before ending in Marrakech, passing through the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A complete adventure that combines nature, Berber culture and unforgettable landscapes.

Itinerary: Fez to the Sahara - 4 Days Between Cities and Dunes

Early departure from Fez heading south, crossing the Middle Atlas. First stop in Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its alpine architecture, clean streets and cool climate.

We continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to Morocco's last Barbary macaques. Opportunity to observe these unique primates in their natural habitat among ancient cedars.

Passing through Midelt, a city situated between the Middle and High Atlas, known for its mines and mountain landscapes. We cross the spectacular Ziz Valley with its extensive palm groves and traditional oases.

Arrival in Erfoud, famous for its fossils and dates, before reaching the dunes of Merzouga. At sunset, camel ride to the Berber camp in the heart of the Sahara. Traditional dinner and night under the desert stars.

Magical sunrise in the Merzouga desert. After breakfast, a full day exploring the Sahara region with unique authentic and cultural experiences.

Visit to nomadic families who still maintain the traditional desert lifestyle. You will learn firsthand about their customs, way of life, and how they adapt to the desert environment. You will share Berber tea and learn about their ancient culture.

We continue to the village of Khamlia, known as the gnawa music village. Its inhabitants, descendants of sub-Saharan African slaves, have preserved unique musical traditions. You will enjoy a private gnawa music concert.

Second night in nomadic tents for an authentic desert experience. Traditional Berber dinner, live music around the campfire, and another magical night under the starry mantle of the Sahara.

Last sunrise in the desert before continuing our journey. We will visit the traditional Rissani market, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet and historic starting point for trans-Saharan caravans to sub-Saharan Africa.

We continue to the spectacular Todra Gorges, an impressive canyon with vertical limestone walls reaching 300 meters high. We will walk through the gorge and enjoy the dramatic landscape and the coolness of the place.

We proceed to the Dades Valley, known for its traditional kasbahs, lunar landscapes and the famous "Route of a Thousand Kasbahs." The road winds between unique rock formations and small authentic Berber villages.

We will explore the famous Dades Gorges with their unique rock formations called "monkey fingers." Accommodation in the Dades Valley with spectacular views of the mountains and geological formations.

Last day of our adventure. After breakfast, we continue to the beautiful Valley of Roses, famous for its Damascus rose plantations and natural cosmetic products. During the season (April-May), incredible fragrances fill the air.

Arrival in Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa." Optional visit to Atlas Studios where numerous international films have been shot such as "Gladiator," "Lawrence of Arabia," and series like "Game of Thrones."

We will visit the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for appearing in multiple film productions. We will explore this impressive 11th-century adobe fortress, considered one of the most beautiful in Morocco.

Final journey crossing the majestic High Atlas mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m), the highest in Morocco. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon where our 4-day adventure from Fez ends. Transfer to your accommodation or airport.
